Episode 2: False Start

After you face your past and accept it, the next step feels like forward momentum. You say, “I’m ready. I’m changing now.” That decision feels solid, like the first chapter has closed.

Then reality sets in. You take action for a day, maybe two. You’re full of drive, certain this time will be different. But the third day feels heavier. The fire dims. You stop. You start again. Stop again. The loop begins: start, stop, restart, quit, restart. Over and over.

This is not a glitch in the process. This is the process.

False starts are the stretch between deciding to change and actually living that change. Everyone who transforms goes through this stage. It’s frustrating. It feels humiliating. But it’s the only way your mind and body learn what commitment really demands.

And here’s what most people miss: false starts still count. They are not wasted. Every short-lived attempt is a rehearsal. That one workout, that one journal entry, that one week of focus before you burned out — they stack up. When you finally lock in, it’s because of all the times you tried before.

So don’t dismiss the loop. Live it. Every time you return, you’re closer to staying.

This is what False Start looks like. This is where you are on the journey.

And when you wear it, you remind yourself that it counts. Even now.
